Can you describe your experience growing up in the family business?
Growing up in the family business was a truly wonderful learning experience for me. I had the opportunity to become a master jeweller and diamond setter, as well as gain qualifications as a Gemologist, Valuer, and in diamond technology. I also grew my skills as a jewellery designer and created some amazing designs for our customers over the years, which I know they cherish to this day.
How did your parents influence the way you do business today?
My parents instilled in me the importance of customer service and product quality. In the early days, we focused on providing excellent customer service and making everyone feel like they were our best friend as soon as they walked in the door. We also maintained top-notch design assembly and quality control, doing everything in-house by the entire family. We put a lot of love and hard work into every piece of jewellery we made, and that's something I carry with me to this day.
Who has been the strongest influence in your life?
Without a doubt, my parents have been the strongest influence in my life. They sacrificed so much to look after the family and the business, working 7 days a week and sometimes 12-14 hour days. Despite the hard work and determination required to get where we are today, they always did it with a lot of love and a smile on their faces.
What is your favourite part of your role at Dracakis Jewellers?
My favourite part of my role is creating something truly unique out of nothing that makes my customers happy. Even after 30 years, it still puts a smile on their faces and that's something I take immense pride in.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the memories we've created for our customers that will last a lifetime. Only jewellery has the ability to cross oceans of time and touch people's lives with a special and unique bespoke piece.
What is your vision for the future of your brand?
My vision for the future of Dracakis Jewellers is to be an industry leader and expand the business to go national and even international. I want Dracakis to become a brand recognised and synonymous with luxury jewellery.
