In collaboration with the skilled artisans of the Pomellato high jewellery atelier, Castaldo has poured his heart and soul into creating this extraordinary collection. It is a testament to our enduring connection with Milan, a place that has captured the imagination of countless individuals for decades. The ever-evolving cityscape of Milan, where reverence for manufacturing excellence intertwines with innovative design, has undeniably influenced Pomellato. The functional designs of mid-century Modernists such as Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti, along with the grandeur of historic architectural marvels, have infused our brand with a vibrant and distinctive style.
"Pomellato was born in Milan in 1967," recalls Vincenzo Castaldo, "And it is here that we continue to create and manufacture our jewels. Our artisanal savoir-faire is deeply rooted in Milan, as is our emphasis on design and ergonomics. We strive for excellence in every technique we employ. Milan is an integral part of Pomellato, a city that has shaped our identity. In 2023, it felt only natural for us to dedicate a high jewellery collection to Milan, expressed in the unique Pomellato way. We have carefully chosen four distinct aspects of Milan, drawing inspiration from a range of themes, including the urban drama of skyscrapers, the power emanating from medieval architecture, the creativity embodied by La Scala, and the magnificent splendour of the Duomo. Each jewel in our collection bears a name that evokes the essence of these captivating scenes.
"Vertical Landscapes" celebrates the city's soaring skyscrapers and the captivating interplay of form and colour created by their visionaries. These contemporary jewels boast strong architectural silhouettes, adorned with exquisite gemstones that showcase Pomellato's profound appreciation for vibrant hues.
"Contemporary Heritage" embodies the strength exuded by Milan's majestic Castello Sforzesco—a fortress of carved stone. Crafted in gold, these remarkable jewels encapsulate the rich history of Milan and its ancient fortifications.
"Creativity on Stage" is an ode to Pomellato's legacy of chain-making, where each jewel becomes a metaphor for the flourishing creativity witnessed on the grand stage of La Scala theater and along Via Montenapoleone.
"Terrazza Duomo" distills the iconic shapes found in the gothic façade of the Duomo cathedral, translating them into contemporary sculptural earrings, a choker, and two bracelets crafted in white or rose gold, adorned with white diamonds.
